Statement

Artist Statement

I create colourful medium-sized oil paintings, mostly in an abstract / expressionist style. I apply thick oil paint using palette knives, oil sticks and rags to achieve a textured and layered effect. My paintings are an unplanned stream of consciousness, inspired by my pull to psychedelia and the supernatural.

I focus on a certain way of seeing, what is unseen. I am curious about the meaning of life, and the lack of meaning. My paintings are a commentary on the absurdity I think and feel about the world.
